The hot, hyperactive season of market-boosting merrymaking is here again, setting us scurrying by the thousands through the mall: bumping shoulders and ricocheting off into stores like distracted dodgem cars; our minds lonely snow-domes of festive preoccupation where mediocre gift ideas flutter and dance like fake snowflakes in a sloshing womb of last night’s office-party champagne.
 
Before she was even walking Melanie Steadman was obsessed with colour and this obsession has grown into a healthy penchant for making beautiful accessories from vintage fabrics.
 
If you’re anything like us your childhood consisted of long hours lost rummaging through piles of Lego searching for that f-ing corner bit. Artist Katie Johnson appears to have found a good spot for all those memories, dangling around your neck. Katie studied art just round the corner at Adelaide Center for the Arts, where she did a degree in painting and minor in jewellery.

When the new Roots Manuva album landed on the Merge desk we couldn't stop looking at the cover. Everything about it was getting us randy, so we hunted down the creators, Oscar and Ewan and forced the two gun designers to divulge the secret of their awesomeness.
